St. Mary Catholic Community in Helena, MT. – Our Sunday liturgies focused on Care for our Common Home. After each mass we joined Catholic communities around the world celebrating Laudato Si” Week. Our beautiful and productive Jubilee Garden was the site of treats under the Pergola with gardeners providing tours. Participants were able to see the gardens that last year produced over 4,000 pounds of organic fruits and vegetables for our local food bank. Care for Creation activities for children and adults took place. Electric cars and their drivers were present to answer questions. In the gathering space children and adult books focusing on Care for God’s creation were available with many to be given away. A bibliography detailing these books, websites, and videos was provided. Several other stations were available: recycling information; a game for adults and children: and the Saint Mary Catholic Community solar panel video display focused on the financial and environmental impact of the 80 solar panels installed in 2019 . Beautiful Laudato Si” prayer cards were passed out by children as people left church.
